Dear students,Leopard head with mask

We continue on the path to Operational Level 1, although will not move to that level next week as anticipated. While this may feel disappointing, the College remains focused on mitigating risk while increasingly allowing more social opportunities as we move through the semester. Your COVID-19 mitigation behaviors remain strong, and I am hopeful that in another week we will be able to move to Level 1.

  • The COVID-19 dashboard is updated every weekday, so it’s the source for the most accurate details about where we stand as a community. The current operational level is noted at the top of the dashboard as well as in each edition of Lafayette Today. Twenty-one new student positives and five new employee cases were found in testing over the past seven days for a positivity rate of 1.2% for students and 1.2% for faculty and staff.
  • Looking for something to do? Check out events on OurCampus and pick up a to-go activity each week in February. Get outside, walk downtown with a friend or roommate, or enjoy the Arts Trail with a new connection from class. Take a look at resources from the Counseling Center
  • Next week is the time for your February community meeting. At the meeting, your resident adviser will fill you in on upcoming opportunities for in-person activities.
  • Increases in COVID-19 cases and a lack of compliance with regulations have brought more campus restrictions at several colleges and universities in our region. For example, Lehigh, Villanova, and Bucknell saw cases rise sharply several weeks into the semester. Thanks for keeping your social circles small and limiting the spread of COVID-19 on our campus!
  • What makes a great mask? Check out tips on appropriate face coverings and remember to always wear your mask inside buildings (except in your bedroom) and outside when you can’t stay six feet from others.
  • Weekly testing logistics: If you miss your appointment time, visit the testing center later the same day to obtain your test. There’s no need to call if you are coming the same day.
  • Having trouble accessing weekly test results? Helpful guidance is available. Please take a look and contact the staff listed if you have not been able to access your test results.

I care about your health and safety, and you are all doing great! Together, we can create an environment that keeps the campus and Easton community safe as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 landscape.
