Lafayette students,

We have updated information on the pre-arrival and arrival COVID-19 tests:

Pre-arrival tests

  1. Pre-arrival tests were sent today via overnight shipping.
  2. Review the pre-arrival test instructions.
  3. Do not activate the pre-arrival test kit until you are ready to take it.
  4. Once activated you must drop off the kit the same day at a FedEx drop box location (drop box only, so please check the location and last pickup times for the day).
  5. We recommend not sending your pre-arrival test kit after Jan. 18 as the result may not be available in time for move in.
  6. Dates to ship the pre-arrival test have been updated to the following:
Arrival Date on campus
Date to Ship Pre-Arrival Test
Jan. 21 or 22 Jan. 17*
Jan. 23 Jan. 18

* Please note Jan. 17 is a federal holiday. FedEx has limited pickup times. Check the hours.

Arrival tests

  • Arrival testing time slots will become available in Aura today at 8 p.m.

Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 recently and alerted us through the survey will receive communication about what to do in terms of testing. If you test positive for COVID-19 between now and Monday, Jan. 17 but do not have a lab verified test, plan to take the pre-arrival test kit that arrives and return on Monday, Jan. 17. Your positive test result will serve as your lab-verified test to exempt you from further testing. You will receive instructions regarding move-in.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate through COVID-19 and a new testing strategy so that we can be safer and stronger together.

Be well and stay safe,

COVID-19 Action Group
