We are reaching out to provide an update on our COVID-19 case status and plans for the week ahead. The College continues to see new COVID-19 cases among students and staff. While not extraordinarily high in number, there have consistently been a few each day. Northampton County has not confirmed the prevalence of the omicron variant, though recent new cases are assumed to be due, at least in part, to the variant’s increasing presence in the region.

While we are not canceling or postponing events during this short work week (the College closes for the break on Thursday), a few extra precautions:

  • Please remember to mask indoors at all times. KN95 and surgical masks are available in Feather House for faculty and staff.
  • We have asked supervisors to allow greater flexibility for staff to work remotely, if possible, as a way to reduce density on campus.
  • When feasible and appropriate this week, we suggest you consider holding meetings via Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Events will continue to be assessed for relative risk, and we ask that you use your best professional judgment as we reach the end of this semester.
  • Faculty who have examinations scheduled to be delivered in person will receive a separate communication from the provost.

On Tuesday afternoon, we will be sharing the initial protocols and recommendations for the spring semester with our community.

Until then, please be well and stay safe,
