The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on work, family, and social life creates a tremendous amount of stress. We want you to know that we recognize this. Please know that we strongly encourage employees to consider taking vacation days to pause from work and gain some relief from the stresses of the pandemic. Holidays also should be used to take time away from the pressures of work.
At the same time, we also recognize that travel restrictions and other measures implemented to lessen the impact of COVID-19 are preventing many employees from fulfilling vacation plans. Therefore the College is allowing employees to carry over to the next fiscal year up to five vacation days beyond what’s normally permitted without special approval. These days must be used by June 30, 2021, and as usual, the timing of taking them must be approved by your supervisor. Please note that these additional carryover days if unused would not be included in the unutilized vacation paid out upon conclusion of employment with the College.
